My wife and I have been Baltimore Ravens season ticket holders since 1999! One evening, a cold call was made to our home. They asked, “Mr. Dews are you interested in buying season tickets, along with the personal seating license (PSL)?” After doing some mental math calculations in my head, I said, “I’ll buy two seats!” It’s been on and popping ever since.

I like to say that I’m a fan. However, my wife, Kim Dews, is the BIGGEST fan! The ultimate fan. To express her support and love for her team, she uses her GOD given gift of creativity. She makes one of a kind Ravens apparel that she adorns at games.

At practically every Baltimore Ravens home game, she herself becomes a star. Compliments galore. Questions are asked of her. Pictures are taken with her. All because of her expressing genuine love for her team.

She’s made Ravens overalls, coats, jackets and hats. She has blinged out Ravens sneakers that she purchased from a friend. Not only are they eye catching. They’re conversation pieces as well. Last season her creation that garnered the most attention was a crocheted full length Lamar Jackson inspired cardigan sweater. Our daughter, Imani, posted a picture of her mom wearing the sweater on X and it went viral. The picture generated almost one million views!

This season, she once again went into the lab to create something special. Very special I must add. Well lets just say she’s done it again. Another one of one, Lamar Jackson inspired full length cardigan with his picture on the back. It’s FANTABULOUS!

Everyone she loves have something she’s created. Once she hears a couple is having a baby, she makes the child’s first blanket. To celebrate loved ones holy matrimony she makes a commemorative piece to recognize the occasion. She always have a project. And she always expresses her love by creating something special with her hands. It’s magical.

So to merge the two. Her creativity and her love for her team, the Baltimore Ravens. And obviously, the love she has for our quarterback, Mr. Lamar Jackson.

People always ask her “how much”? Her reply is always the same “I do this out of love, not for monetary gain.” We always say, “it’s a blessing to be a blessing.”

I write this piece just to celebrate and acknowledge my wife’s gifted hands and loving heart.
